Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
The Rhode Island Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) collects data for controlled substance prescriptions (Schedules II - V, or opioid antagonists) into a centralized database. These data can then be used by prescribers and pharmacists in the active treatment of their patients. Under Rhode Island regulations, information about all transactions for controlled substances dispensed in Rhode Island must be reported. Prescribers and pharmacists can refer to these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to learn more about how to best utilize the PDMP.
