To prevent and control vaccine-preventable disease in Rhode Island.
What we do
- Coordinate various immunization programs throughout Rhode Island.
- Improve and sustain vaccination coverage levels.
- Track vaccine returns/waste in order to stay under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allowance of 5% annually.
- Ensure that vaccine providers comply with Vaccines for Children (VFC) program requirements through performance site visits.
- Maintain effective systems for vaccine quality assurance.
- Provide community and school-based vaccination programs.
Accomplishments
- High immunization rates and #1 immunization coverage rates for HPV.
