Mission

To prevent and control vaccine-preventable disease in Rhode Island.

What we do

  • Coordinate various immunization programs throughout Rhode Island.
  • Improve and sustain vaccination coverage levels.
  • Track vaccine returns/waste in order to stay under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allowance of 5% annually.
  • Ensure that vaccine providers comply with Vaccines for Children (VFC) program requirements through performance site visits.
  • Maintain effective systems for vaccine quality assurance.
  • Provide community and school-based vaccination programs.

Accomplishments

  • High immunization rates and #1 immunization coverage rates for HPV.
